☑ About Border Security Force?

Until 1965, India's borders with Pakistan were guarded by the State Armed Police Battalion. Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Char Bet and Baria Bet on 9 April 1965 in Kutch. The attack revealed that the State Armed Police Battalion was inadequate in countering the armed offensive, which led the Government of India to feel the need for a Special Border Security Force under the Center which would be an armed and trained force and the international border with Pakistan Will monitor As a result of the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries, the Border Security Force came into existence on 1 December 1965 and Shri KF Rustomjee was its first head and founder. In 1965, the Border Security Force was formed with a total of 25 battalions and over time the Border Security Force for Prevention of Terrorism was expanding in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, North East. At present, 192 battalions of Border Security Force (including 03 NDRF battalions) and 07 arti regiments are deployed to guard the international border of India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh. Apart from this, the Border Security Force is deployed in the Kashmir Valley, internal security in the North East region, anti-Naxal operations in Orissa and Chhattisgarh and in the Integrated Check Post at the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh International Border.
